How to Create Microsoft Tenant Domain for a Customer Organization?
Introduction
The prerequisites for customer organization to purchase Microsoft offers is to have a valid Microsoft tenant domain in Microsoft Partner Center. That can be achieved by either creating the customer organization in Microsoft Partner Center and synchronizing with Appxite platform next or by creating Microsoft Tenant Domain directly in Appxite platform and synchronizing into Microsoft Partner Center.
The latter can be done directly on the platform from the CATALOG menu and this article guides platform Admins on this process.

Create Microsoft Tenant Domain Steps
In order to create a new tenant domain:
- Log in to the portal on behalf of the customer, which the tenant domain needs to be created for.

Select the Microsoft Product you would like to place a Purchase Order for, or simply select any Microsoft Product if the new tenant domain needs to be created without making a purchase.
NOTE! It is not necessary to complete the purchase, in order to create a new tenant domain. The purchase order can be cancelled once the new tenant domain is created. -
In the Configure Plan form, select 'Create New' next to the Tenant Domain field:

4. In the Domain name field, enter the name of the new tenant domain and select Save.
TIP! The company name can be used for a domain name.
A prefix 'onmicrosoft.com' will be appended to this domain name.
'Create New Tenant Domain' Grid Explained
Once you selected 'Create New' on Offer Form you are presented with the following grid with the available options explained below:
1. Domain Name - enter the name of the new tenant domain and select 'Save':
- domain name had already been used by other Microsoft customer organization
- domain name was attempted to be created and did not succeed nor have been removed from the grid yet.
In such a case, 'Save' button is not activated, and a notification message will pop up: 'Domain name: "yourdomainname.onmicrosoft.com" is not available'.
To resolve this, try a different domain name or remove the domain from a grid if available there using Delete button and re-use the name.

2. Domain Name - the domain summary table includes a list of all Microsoft domains for the organization, which were created successfully or are still processing, or did not create due to the error.
3. Status - indicates the status of domain. If particular domain was created successfully, it can be chosen while placing the order.
4. External ID - 'Microsoft Tenant Id' for the customer organization. Only domains created successfully have positive values.
5. Comment - in case there was an issue to create a domain, in column ‘Comment’. error message will be shown **.
** Make sure to check Limitations section in this article in case you have received any errors during tenant creation and if unable to solve it, submit the ticket with Appxite Support Team for assistance.
6. Delete - remove invalid domain to reuse the name again, only tenant domains which are either in status 'Invalid' (did not created successfully) nor have any subscriptions under, can be removed. All other states (eg. 'New', 'Suspended') are not in the scope for deletion.
7. Close - close the grid.
8. Save - save the changes, to be used in conjunction when creating new domains as explained in the first paragraph.
Actions after Microsoft Domain was Created
1. When the new tenant domain is created, the primary contact specified in the customer organization profile receives the details of the newly created Account, including the Admin user account, via email:

2. Enter your administrator account name, in the format: admin@yourdomain.onmicrosoft.com and click Next.
Limitations
When a customer creates a tenant domain with Microsoft through the platform, Tax ID (used to be call VAT number) and other details will undergo extra validation from Microsoft as per their requirements for selected countries.
Important to remember:
- Upon creation of a tenant domain, the latest customer information from the customer profile in the platform will be sent to Microsoft for validation.
- If Tax ID is empty in the customer profile, the customer will be marked as Tax-exempt on Microsoft side.
- Updating customer profile in the platform will update customer’s information on Microsoft side the next time a tenant domain is used.

Summary
Microsoft Tenant Domain Name and Microsoft Tenant Id is a unique identifier for all organizations which are part of Microsoft ecosystem. There is a very short journey for any existing or potential customers which desire to start buying Microsoft licenses and Azure Plan offers using Appxite platform and the process is fully self-service. Given that all information provided in the Profile section is compiled with Microsoft rules, it just a few clicks away for a domain to get created and an offer to be purchased. Additionally, if that was the case, Appxite platform displays in Comments the reason the domain could not be created by Microsoft, so customers can correct the changes and reuse for the domain name for the second time.
