How Do Adobe Price Levels Work on the Platform?
Overview
The AppXite Platform communicates directly with Adobe via API calls for each Adobe product purchase made on the platform. These calls validate the customer’s Account Level and determine the highest available discount tier based on Adobe’s pricing logic.
Order-Level Behavior
When the number of licenses to be purchased is selected, the platform behaves accordingly:
-
A request is sent to Adobe.
-
Adobe responds with the customer’s current Account Level, which determines the applicable discount tier.
-
The Level field displays the corresponding discount tier for the purchase.
Customers cannot manually modify the Level field. The platform automatically retrieves the appropriate Account Level from Adobe for each purchase and applies the correct discount.
Additionally, neither customers nor providers acting on their behalf will be able to place an order until the platform successfully retrieves the necessary account data from Adobe. This validation is required, as the final purchase price depends on the confirmed discount tier (Price Level).
Level Adjustment During Order Purchase
The platform includes an automated feature that calculates the appropriate Adobe Price Level for each order, including those with multiple items or line entries. Once an order reaches the Provisioned status, the adjusted Price Level is displayed within the Subscription Details section. This ensures a transparent and accurate overview of the applicable Adobe pricing for each subscription.
Understanding How Price Level Adjustment Works
The Adobe Price Level is calculated per order based on the total quantity of licenses purchased within a single cart. The logic behind this functionality can be better understood by reviewing the following usage scenarios:
1. Purchasing a New Adobe Offer in a Single Cart
Scenario: You place an order for a new Adobe offer with a selected license quantity.
-
The calculated Adobe Price Level will be visible on offer's page after entering the quantity.
-
The cart will reflect the discounted price and Adobe Price Level.
-
After the order is Provisioned, the same discount and Price Level will appear under Subscription Details.
2. Purchasing Multiple New Adobe Offers in a Single Cart
Scenario: You add more than one Adobe offer to the same cart, each with its own license quantity.
-
If the total number of Adobe licenses in the cart qualifies the organization for a higher price level than currently assigned, pricing adjustments or discounts may not be immediately reflected in the cart.
Conversely, if the total quantity of Adobe products in the cart does not meet the threshold for a higher price level, the cart will display pricing as expected based on the organization’s current level.
You can use the Adobe tables to calculate eligibility for higher discount tiers.
-
Once the order reaches the Provision Complete status and the products are visible under the Subscriptions tab, the adjusted Price Level will be reflected for each subscription.
-
Even if individual subscriptions contain fewer than 10 licenses, the system evaluates the total quantity of licenses across all relevant order items. If subscriptions are included in the same order and belong to the same offer type, they are grouped together for the purpose of Price Level calculation.
Example:
Two subscriptions, each with fewer than 10 licenses, may still qualify for Price Level 2 if their combined quantity meets the required threshold.
3. Purchasing a New Adobe Offer and Adjusting Quantity of an Existing Subscription in a Single Cart
Scenario: You add a new Adobe offer and simultaneously update the quantity of an existing subscription within the same cart.
-
Add the new offer to the cart with the desired quantity.
-
From the New Offers window, select the existing subscription and adjust its quantity accordingly.
- As with the previous scenario, the Price Level and discounts will be updated once the order is provisioned and reflected in the Subscription Details.
4. Updating Multiple Existing Adobe Subscriptions in a Single Cart
Scenario: You update the quantity of more than one existing Adobe subscription using the New Offers window.
-
Select each existing subscription and adjust quantities within the same cart.
-
The system calculates the Price Level based on the cumulative license quantity across the updated subscriptions in that single order.
-
Once the order is Provisioned, the adjusted pricing and Price Level will be visible in each subscription’s details.
Adobe VIP Marketplace Discounting Logic
The Adobe VIP Marketplace uses standardized volume discounting based on each customer’s Account Level:
-
Customers qualify for volume discounts with:
-
A single order of 10 or more licenses
-
Any renewal order
-
-
Volume discounts are automatically calculated based on the total number of licenses included in the current or renewal purchase.
