What is an Add-on Subscription
An Add-on Subscription provides additional functionality to the Subscription that you purchase it for. Add-on Subscriptions enhance your base Subscription with extra features or capabilities specific to your needs.
Legacy products vs New Commerce products
The way Add-on Subscriptions appear and can be purchased differs depending on whether you are working with legacy products or New Commerce products.
Legacy products: Add-on Subscriptions are not visible in the product catalog as separate items because they are linked to a Parent Subscription. You cannot purchase an Add-on Subscription separately. The Parent Subscription must be placed first, and if Add-on Subscriptions are available, a new tab will display where you can select the needed Add-on Subscriptions and proceed to checkout.

New Commerce products: Add-on Subscriptions can be purchased directly from the catalog. Both base Products and Add-on Subscriptions are displayed in the catalog, giving you more flexibility in how you purchase them.
