What if My Domain Is Not Created?

Overview

To successfully create a new Microsoft customer domain, it is essential to accurately complete the customer registration form. If the form is incomplete or contains incorrect information, Microsoft’s API may reject the domain tenant during creation due to failed validation.

Before proceeding, you may refer to this article for more on how to manually create a new Customer Organization.

  • South Australia

  • Tasmania

  • Victoria

  • Western Australia

Microsoft has not specified any particular standards for other countries. If additional guidance is required, please consult the official Microsoft Help documentation.

Phone Number Format Guidelines

Ensure the phone number follows a recognizable and structured format. While Microsoft accepts a range of formats, it's recommended to use E.164 or standard U.S. number formatting for consistency.

Preferred formats include:

  • (267) 110-1945

  • +1 (458) 866-4473

  • (607) 142-0859

  • 1 (370) 481-7989

  • 206-184-7393

Note! Avoid using inconsistent separators (e.g., slashes or dots) or compressed numbers without any formatting. For example, 5083665804 may be accepted but is not recommended without clarification.

Important Notes

  • Microsoft performs address validation at the time of tenant domain creation, which is stricter than the validation applied when creating or updating a customer profile.

  • When creating a tenant, ensure that State, City, and ZIP Code are consistent and accurately reflect Microsoft’s accepted standards for that country.

  • If any of these fields are mismatched or formatted incorrectly, Microsoft will reject the tenant creation request.

Final Steps

Once the customer profile is correctly completed, including address and phone formats:

  1. Proceed to create the new tenant domain via the Offer Configuration form.

  2. Complete or cancel the purchase order as needed.

Summary

Accurate and complete customer profile information is critical to passing Microsoft’s validation checks during tenant domain creation—especially for customers in the U.S., Canada, and Australia. Ensuring that address fields (State, City, ZIP/Postal Code) and phone numbers follow Microsoft's accepted formats significantly reduces the risk of domain creation failures. By aligning customer data with these requirements upfront, users can avoid common errors, streamline the setup process, and proceed confidently with Microsoft subscription purchases through the Appxite platform.
