Add notes to Orders

Introduction

This article explains how to add notes to orders for recording additional information, instructions, reminders, or context. Notes help you maintain important details about your orders for future reference.

Who can add notes to orders

You can add notes to orders from the Customer View when logged in on behalf of a Customer Organization. The following user roles can add notes to both recent orders and historical orders:

• Customer
• Customer admin
• Account manager
• Seller admin
• Distributor admin

How to add a note to an order

To add a note to an order:

1. Navigate to the ORDERS tab in the main menu.
2. Locate the order you want to add a note to in either the recent orders or historical orders list.
3. Click the Add note link in the NOTE column for that order.
4. In the note field, enter your information, instructions, or reminders.
5. Click OK to save the note.

Once saved, the note will appear in the NOTE column for that order.

Important information about order notes

Notes are read-only: Once an order note is added and saved, it cannot be edited or deleted. Make sure your note is accurate before saving it.

Filter orders by notes: You can use the NOTE column filter to search and filter orders based on the content of their notes.

Email and webhook notifications: You can enable notifications to receive alerts via email or webhook when an order note is added. Configure this in the Notification Settings of your platform.
In the order section, notes can be added to record additional information, instructions, reminders, and more. After placing an order, any customer or seller can add a note to it for context or internal reference.
