How to configure Offer Provisioning? New UI

Appxite

Introduction

This article explains how to configure the Provisioning step (Step 4 of 5) in the Offer publishing wizard in Product Management Hub. The Provisioning step controls how Orders for the Offer are fulfilled — either through a manual email notification to a specified address, or through automated logic defined by an uploaded sequence file. When the Offer Details configuration requires sequences (for example, when Automatic Upgrades and Downgrades, cancellation policy, or custom Renewal/expiry actions are enabled), the relevant sequence types are listed in this step and must be uploaded before the Offer can be published.

Accessing the Provisioning step

The Provisioning step is the fourth step in the New Offer Configuration wizard: Offer DetailsPricingBilling RulesProvisioningReview & Publish. To reach it, complete the preceding steps and then select Next: Provisioning, or select the Provisioning entry in the progress banner at the top of the page.

The step opens with a header line "Configure your offer provisioning settings and sequence requirements", followed by the Provisioning Configuration section.

Selecting the Provisioning method

Under Select Provisioning Method, choose one of two radio options:

  • Send order details to an email (selected by default) — Orders are sent to a specified email address for manual processing.
  • Custom sequences configuration — automated provisioning logic is defined by a JSON sequence file uploaded by the Vendor.

The interface below the radio buttons updates immediately to match the selected method: the Email Address field is shown for the email option, and the file-upload area is shown for the custom-sequences option.

Send order details to an email

When Send order details to an email is selected, an Email Address field appears directly underneath the option. Orders placed for this Offer will be sent to this address for manual processing by the Vendor.

Steps

  1. Select the Send order details to an email radio option.
  2. In the Email Address field, enter the recipient address. The field displays the placeholder text "Enter email address to receive order details".
  3. The field accepts only valid email addresses and keeps its value if you switch to the other method and back.
NOTE! Use the email method when the Vendor processes Orders manually and no automated integration with the Platform is required. The address entered here receives notifications for every new Order placed against this Offer.

Custom sequences configuration

When Custom sequences configuration is selected, the Email Address field is hidden and a file-upload area appears in its place. Upload a JSON sequence file to define the automated provisioning logic.

Upload a sequence file

The upload area supports two interaction methods:

  • Drag-and-drop — drag the file from your local file system onto the area. While a file is being dragged over it, the area changes to a green active state and displays "Drop your sequence file here".
  • Click to upload — select the upload area (or the Upload File button) to open a file-browser dialog. Only supported file types are selectable.

Once a file is dropped or selected, the Platform processes its content. The filename appears in a green badge, and the file content is shown in a preview text area below. The drag-state visual indicators are reset.

Warning! The Offer cannot be published in Custom sequences configuration mode without a valid sequence file uploaded for every required sequence type listed in Sequence Configuration Requirements.

Sequence Configuration Requirements

Below the provisioning method, the Sequence Configuration Requirements section lists the sequences that must be configured for this Offer. The list is generated automatically based on the choices made in the Offer Details step (cancellation policy, Upgrades and Downgrades, Renewal/expiry actions). When at least one requirement applies, the section displays a Required badge and the description "Based on Offer Details Configuration, sequences are required for the following components".

Up to four sequence types may be shown:

  • Cancellation Policy — define automated actions when Customers cancel their Subscription.
  • Upgrades and Downgrades — configure workflows for plan changes and tier modifications.
  • Custom Action on Renewal Date — set up automated processes for Subscription renewals.
  • Custom Action on Expiry Date — define actions to take when Subscriptions expire.

Download a sample template

Each sequence type provides a download icon button. Hover the icon to display the tooltip "Download [Sequence Name] sequence template". Selecting the icon downloads a sample sequence configuration file with the filename pattern [sequence_id]_sequence.md. Use the template as a starting point, adapt it to the Vendor's integration, and upload it through the drag-and-drop area above.

NOTE! If no requirements apply to the current Offer Details configuration, the section displays a confirmation message: "No sequence configurations are required based on the current offer settings". In that case, the Offer can be published without uploading any sequence file, even in Custom sequences configuration mode.

Warning! Sequences are only honoured when Custom sequences configuration is selected. If Send order details to an email is selected, any sequences uploaded earlier are ignored and the Sequence Configuration Requirements are bypassed. Make sure the chosen Provisioning method matches the automation requirements set in Offer Details.

Need Help section

At the bottom of the Provisioning step, the Need Help? section provides quick access to the relevant knowledge-base article. The section shows the text "Learn more about configuring offer provisioning and sequence requirements" and a Learn More button with an external-link icon. Selecting the button opens the linked article in a new browser tab:

After configuring the Provisioning step, select Next: Review & Publish to continue, or Save as Draft to keep the current state without publishing.

Limitations

  • The Custom sequences configuration option accepts JSON sequence files only, with a maximum size of 10 MB.
  • Sequences uploaded under one method are not applied when the other method is selected; switching the method does not migrate the configuration.
  • Changing the Provisioning method or replacing a sequence file after publishing affects new Orders only — existing Subscriptions continue under their original provisioning configuration unless re-provisioned.
  • The Sequence Configuration Requirements list is derived automatically from Offer Details. To remove a required sequence type, return to the Offer Details step and disable the corresponding setting (for example, switch Related Services from Automatic to Manual).
  • An Offer cannot be published while any required sequence remains unconfigured; the validation is enforced in the Review & Publish step.

Summary

The Provisioning step defines how Orders for the Offer are fulfilled. Two methods are available: Send order details to an email for manual processing, and Custom sequences configuration for automated provisioning logic uploaded as a JSON file. The Sequence Configuration Requirements section lists, based on choices made in Offer Details, which sequences must be configured — Cancellation Policy, Upgrades and Downgrades, Custom Action on Renewal Date, and Custom Action on Expiry Date. Each required sequence provides a downloadable sample template that can be adapted and uploaded through the drag-and-drop area. The Need Help? section at the bottom links to the Automatic Offer provisioning article for deeper background.
