Azure Reserved Instances
Introduction
AppXite Platform initially supported a semi-automated way to order "Reserved Instances" which included the Support team. This article focuses on the review of purchasing and editing of the automated NCE Reserved Instances.
In this article:
Purchase flow - New order
1. Select the product and offer from the Catalog and go to order configuration
2. Select "Tenant". The platform will automatically check whether the Tenant has an active Azure Plan subscription.
3. The next step is to confirm that Azure Plan will be registered for RI purchases.
4. Once Azure Plan is registered for RI purchases successfully, RI general configuration fields appear to select Industry and Datacenter. Select "Retrieve SKUs".
5. RI-specific configuration fields appear to select SKU, billing cycle, term duration, and quantity.
Browser search (Ctrl+F) can be used to facilitate the selection of the needed SKU.
6. Select the correct cycle, term, and quantity. Options are loaded dynamically based on selected SKUs.
7. Once the configuration is defined, click "Retrieve Catalog Item". You will see precise Catalog item that will be provisioned. This allows for verifying the price and selection of the desired SKU.
8. Click "Add to cart" and place an order. Azure Reservations under Azure Plan are ordered with a "Shared" scope. That can be changed later in Azure Portal.
Subscription management flow - Edit
Subscription displays the form of configuration.
Azure Reservations are managed via Azure Portal. There are no changes possible from the AppXite Platform currently.
Limitations
- Subscription or its configuration changes synchronization from the Partner Center under automated RI offers are currently unavailable.
- Existing subscriptions can't be migrated under automated RI offers.
- Exchanges, Renewals, and Cancellations (refunds) are to be submitted via Azure Portal as a support ticket to Microsoft.
- Scope changes are updated via Azure Portal.
- Auto-renewals are not supported for reservations since they require a new purchase
