The article also covers important limitations regarding contact information updates and billing restrictions for Microsoft Customers.
In this article:
When an existing Microsoft Customer accepts a Reseller Relationship consent with a Partner (Direct Provider, Indirect Provider, or Indirect Seller) it will immediately appear in the Partner's Microsoft Partner Center.
Customer synchronization process
Consequently, once the Customer appears in the Microsoft Partner Center upon accepting the Reseller Relationship link, such a Customer should sync to the Platform a short while after that, based on the incremental sync implemented on the Platform side. Ultimately, due to various circumstances, it might take up to 24 hours for the Customer to appear on the Platform (based on the synchronization during night hours).
Contact information mapping
Customer's Billing Contact information in the Microsoft Partner Center is mapped to the Primary Contact on the Platform.
By default, the Billing Contact information on the Platform is set to the same value as the Primary Contact information.
Limitations
- Partners cannot modify Primary or Billing contact information for Microsoft Customers directly through the Platform. All contact information changes must be made in Microsoft Partner Center to ensure synchronization integrity.
- Microsoft Customers have billing information restrictions where Billing Information cannot be different from the Primary information on the Platform due to the limitations imposed by the integration with the Microsoft Partner Center.
Summary
The article explains how Microsoft Customer synchronization works between Microsoft Partner Center and the Platform. Customers who accept Reseller Relationship consents appear in Microsoft Partner Center immediately and sync to the Platform within 24 hours. Contact information from Microsoft Partner Center maps to the Platform with specific restrictions on editing capabilities to maintain synchronization integrity.
