Introduction

This article explains how to configure and use Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for Account login on the AppXite platform. It covers the setup process for first-time users receiving an invitation and users whose MFA has been reset. The guide walks through the complete configuration process, from initial login to final authentication setup using authenticator applications.

In this article:

Multi-Factor Authentication provides an additional security layer for your AppXite account by requiring both your password and a time-based verification code from your mobile device.

NOTE! You must have an authenticator application installed on your device before beginning the MFA setup process.

Prerequisites for MFA Setup

Before configuring MFA for your AppXite account, ensure you have the following requirements:

  • Authenticator Application installed on your device (iOS, Android, or Microsoft)
  • Any authentication application is supported, including Microsoft Authenticator and Google Authenticator
  • Access to the AppXite platform URL
  • Valid account credentials (email and password)

Account Login Configuration

Navigate to the AppXite platform URL and select the Account login option from the available authentication methods.

After entering your credentials, the platform will recognize that MFA setup is required and automatically redirect you to the authentication configuration page.

Authenticator Application Setup

The system displays a QR code that you must scan using your authenticator application. This QR code contains the configuration information needed to link your AppXite account with your authenticator app.

Open your authenticator application and use the scanning feature to capture the QR code displayed on screen. This action adds the AppXite MFA account as a separate entry in your authenticator application.

WARNING! Ensure you scan the QR code completely and verify that the AppXite account appears in your authenticator application before proceeding.

MFA Code Verification

The final step requires you to enter the 6-digit verification code generated by your authenticator application. This code changes every 30 seconds and establishes the link between your device and your AppXite account.

Enter the current 6-digit code from your authenticator application into the verification field. The system validates the code and completes the MFA setup process.

Upon successful verification, you will be redirected to the main page of the AppXite portal, and your browsing session will continue with MFA protection enabled.

Limitations

  • MFA setup is required for first-time users and users whose MFA has been reset
  • The verification code expires every 30 seconds and must be current when entered
  • Only one authenticator application can be linked per account at a time
  • If you lose access to your authenticator device, you must contact support to reset MFA

Summary

This article guided you through configuring Multi-Factor Authentication for AppXite Account login. The process involves selecting the Account login option, entering your credentials, scanning a QR code with your authenticator application, and verifying the setup with a 6-digit code. Once configured, MFA provides enhanced security for your AppXite account by requiring both your password and a mobile device verification code for login.
