How to Log in on Behalf of the Customer
Introduction
This article guides Sellers through the process of accessing the catalog while acting on behalf of a Customer organization. When purchasing products for customers, Sellers must log in as the customer organization to complete transactions. This article provides step-by-step instructions for switching to a customer view and accessing the catalog.
In this article:
- Access the Customer Organization List
- Select the Target Customer Organization
- Verify Customer View Access
When purchasing products from the catalog on behalf of customers, you must be logged in as the Customer organization rather than your seller account. This allows you to view available products and complete purchases as if you were the customer.
Access the Customer Organization List
To begin the process of logging in on behalf of a customer, first access your Seller Platform and navigate to the customer organization list.
Log in to your Seller platform using your credentials. Once logged in, navigate to the organizations section by selecting the "SELECT ORGANIZATION" option from the main menu. This will display a list of all customer organizations associated with your seller account.
Select the Target Customer Organization
From the customer organizations list, locate and select the specific customer for whom you want to make a purchase.
The Customer Organizations page displays all customers associated with your account, including details such as organization name, profile information, contract numbers, and country. Review the list and click on the "Profile" link for the desired customer organization to access their account.
Verify Customer View Access
After selecting a customer organization, confirm that you are now operating on behalf of that customer by checking the organization indicator.
Once you complete the selection process, the platform will display the catalog view with the selected customer's name shown in the organization selector (displayed as a red badge in the top-right corner). You can now browse and purchase products from the catalog as if you were that customer organization.
Summary
This article explained how Sellers can access the catalog on behalf of their customers by navigating through their platform, selecting the appropriate customer organization, and verifying the customer view. This functionality enables Sellers to purchase products directly for their customers while maintaining proper attribution and billing.
