How Do NCE Trial Subscriptions Work?

By default, NCE trial subscriptions in Microsoft Partner Center have automatic renewal enabled, meaning the subscription will convert to a paid plan once the trial period ends.

However, NCE trial subscriptions provisioned or purchased through the AppXite Platform will have automatic renewal disabled by default.

You can identify an NCE subscription by the presence of the NCE tag on the logo, as shown below:

Legacy or non-NCE licenses do not display the NCE tag on their logo.

How Does It Work?

After purchasing the license, the request to turn off the Auto-renew is being processed by the Microsoft Partner Center.
The overall process is as follows:

How Does It Look?

Once the order is provisioned, the NCE trial subscription will appear under the "Subscriptions" tab.
In this view, there will be no option to enable or disable auto-renew, as it is disabled by default. This is consistent for all NCE trial licenses.

What To Do if You Want To Upgrade the License From a Trial to a Paid Subscription?

If the customer wants to convert their NCE trial subscription to a paid one, the reseller can take the following actions:

  1. If the trial has not expired: The reseller can enable auto-renewal in the Microsoft Partner Center.

  2. If the trial has expired: The reseller or customer must purchase a paid subscription by visiting the Catalog and selecting a paid type offer.

If the customer attempts to modify the terms of an NCE order in a way that does not comply with Microsoft's guidelines, the following error message will be displayed:
