Price per component
Introduction
This article explains the Price per Component feature that enables configuring offers with multiple product components—such as storage, CPU keys, and others—to be displayed as separate items within an offer. This configuration is also reflected in corresponding invoices, where each component is listed as an individual line item with its respective price. The functionality enhances pricing transparency for complex product structures and reduces potential business friction by providing clear cost breakdowns.

CPQ Configuration
The Price per Component feature is enabled by default for all the pricing plans in the CPQ tool.
If the Vendor's product contains such components as:
- Storage
- Processor
- Network
- Memory
The pricing plan will:
1. Automatically reflect that in the Price summary.
2. Send information to the invoices with enabled invoice lines per Price component.
Invoices Section
After the purchase, offers with the Price per Component setting enabled will become subscriptions. Invoices generated for these subscriptions will include each component as a separate line item.
The Incoming Billings details for these invoices have a Component column, which is sortable and filterable. This allows you to see separate components with distinct prices:
The same Component column is visible also in details of Incoming Invoices and can be sorted and filtered by:
Each price component is treated as a separate line in the billing cycle. Additionally, each component can have separate billing rules, like start and end date.
Limitations
The Price per Component setting can only be configured before the first subscription is created in the platform. After that, this setting cannot be changed for the product.
Summary
The Price per Component feature offers greater flexibility and control in how offers and invoices are structured. By itemizing individual components within complex products, businesses can provide end customers with clearer billing details and more accurate pricing information. This functionality supports improved financial transparency, streamlined operations, and enhanced customer trust.
