How to read the Price table?

Appxite

Introduction

This article explains the Price Table feature on the Platform, which provides a comprehensive summary of pricing across all tiers of a Subscription. The Price Table shows how prices are configured, how Markup and adjustments are applied, and what each Partner tier buys and sells for — including profitability, margin calculations, and unit economics.

When multiple currencies are involved, the Price Table also displays FX conversion details and tier-specific cost currencies, giving Distributors and Sellers full visibility into complex multi-currency pricing.

In this article:

Where to find the Price Table

The Price Table is available on both the Offer Buy page and the Subscription details page. By default, the Price Table is hidden. To display it, select the "Show Price Table" toggle located below the Markup Configuration card.

When you turn on the toggle, the Price Table appears with a fade-in animation, showing a summary of pricing across all tiers for the current Subscription.

The "Show Price Table" toggle appears below the Markup Configuration card.

NOTE! The Price Table is a read-only view. It does not allow you to edit prices directly. To change pricing, use the Markup Configuration fields above the table or manage prices through Customer Prices.

Price Table column groups

The Price Table is organized as a horizontally scrollable table with rows for each Partner tier (Distributor and Seller) and columns grouped into four top-level sections:

  • Price Configuration — shows the price source and all adjustments applied to arrive at the final price.
  • Profitability — shows margin percentage and absolute margin for each tier.
  • Unit Economics — shows the unit cost and unit price per License.
  • Price — shows the actual buy, sell, and Suggested Retail Price amounts.

Each tier row also includes a Details section on the left side of the table, displaying the Partner tier name and the Billing Cycle. The Distributor tier row is visible to Distributor Admin roles or higher. The Seller tier row is visible to Account Manager roles or higher.

The Price Table with all four column groups: Price Configuration, Profitability, Unit Economics, and Price.

Understanding Price Configuration columns

The Price Configuration group contains the following columns:

  • Price Source — indicates the base price used for calculating the tier's price. Possible values are Cost Price (the wholesale price from the invoice provider) or Retail Price (the Suggested Retail Price from the Vendor). See "What is Price Source?" for details.
  • Catalog Adj. (%) — the Markup percentage configured at the catalog level. For the Distributor tier, this comes from Partner Prices. For the Seller tier, this comes from Customer Prices. An information icon appears next to the value when a catalog adjustment is active.
  • Subscription Adj. (%) — the Markup configured at the Subscription level. This column shows only the Seller-level Markup, because the Distributor Markup is saved in Partner Prices at the Subscription level.
  • Catalog Adj. on Renew (%) — visible when the Subscription has a renewal-specific catalog adjustment configured. This column shows the Markup that will apply upon Renewal based on the current Customer Prices configuration.
  • Total Adj. (%) — the combined adjustment, calculated using the formula:
    Total Adj. = (1 + Catalog Markup) × (1 + Subscription Markup) − 1
This gives you the effective total percentage adjustment applied to the base price.

NOTE! In the Total Adj. formula, Catalog Markup and Subscription Markup values are used as decimals (divided by 100), not as percentages. For example, a 12% catalog adjustment and a 15% subscription adjustment result in: (1 + 0.12) × (1 + 0.15) − 1 = 0.288, which is 28.80%.

Understanding Profitability columns

The Profitability group shows how much margin each tier earns:

  • Margin (%) — calculated as: (You Sell For − You Buy For) / You Sell For. This represents the percentage of the selling price that is profit.
  • Margin (ABS) — the absolute margin amount, calculated as: You Sell For − You Buy For. This value is shown in the tier's cost currency.

If the margin is negative (meaning the Seller is selling below cost), the Platform may display a warning indicating the Discount may result in selling at a loss.

Understanding Unit Economics columns

The Unit Economics group breaks the total price down to a per-License level:

  • Unit Cost — the cost per individual License (Seat) that the tier pays.
  • Unit Price — the price per individual License that the tier charges. When the Subscription has multiple Licenses, this column helps you understand the per-unit breakdown.

When multi-currency is active, unit values may include a cost-currency sub-line beneath the main amount, showing the equivalent in the tier's cost currency (for example, MYR 2.11 with ≈ EUR 0.42 beneath it).

Understanding Price columns

The Price group shows the actual monetary values for each tier:

  • You Buy For — the total amount the tier pays to its supplier for the Subscription. For the Distributor, this is the Cost Price from the Vendor. For the Seller, this is the Distributor's sell price converted to the Seller's cost currency.
  • You Sell For — the total amount the tier charges to the next party in the chain. For the Distributor, this is the price charged to the Seller. For the Seller, this is the Customer Price.
  • Suggested Retail Price — the Vendor's recommended selling price for the Product. This column serves as a reference point and is not affected by Markup adjustments.

When the Price Table is showing the prorated view, the Price column group header displays a "(pro-rated)" label and a day-ratio chip (for example, 14/31d). The day-ratio chip appears once in the header only and is not repeated on individual cell values. See "How to view prorated Prices in the Price Table" for more information.

When multi-currency is active, each price value may display a cost-currency sub-line beneath the main value. For example, a Seller tier value might show USD 1.06 as the main value with ≈ MYR 4.33 beneath it, representing the converted amount in the tier's cost currency.

Multi-currency in the Price Table

When the Distributor and Seller operate in different currencies, the Price Table shows each tier's prices in its own cost currency. This gives you a clear view of what each tier actually pays and earns in its own transaction currency.

The currency display follows these rules:

Distributor tier

All prices are shown in the parent contract currency (the currency of the agreement between the Vendor and the Distributor), regardless of whether the Distributor invoices the Seller in a different currency.

Seller tier

All prices are shown in the Seller's incoming price currency (the currency in which the Seller receives the Invoice from the Distributor), regardless of whether the Seller invoices the Customer in a different currency.

Customer Price

The final Customer Price is shown in the currency the Customer will pay the Seller in. This is typically the Platform currency or the Customer's preferred currency.

When the tier currencies differ, cost-currency sub-lines appear beneath the main price values in the Price columns. These sub-lines show the converted amounts so you can verify how prices translate between tiers. A currency toggle button (≠ CCY) may appear in the Price column group header, allowing you to switch the sub-line display on or off.

The Price Table with multi-currency sub-lines. Each price value shows the converted amount in the tier's cost currency beneath it.

NOTE! All monetary values in the Price Table are formatted with exactly two decimal places and use a non-breaking space as the thousands separator, following European convention. Currency codes appear as a suffix in the same row as the value.

Exchange rate legend

When multi-currency pricing is active, an Exchange Rates legend bar appears beneath the Price Table. The legend bar shows all active cross-rates used for sub-line conversions, for example:

1 MYR = 0.2457 USD   |   1 EUR = 5.00 MYR

A right-aligned note on the legend bar reads "Used for cost-currency sub-lines", clarifying that these rates convert prices between tiers.

The Exchange Rates legend bar shows all active cross-rates used for sub-line conversions.

The exchange rates shown here are configured at the Distributor level in Settings > Currency & Payments > Currency. See "Currency Exchange (FX) Rate Management" for details on how to configure exchange rates.

NOTE! FX rates and the currency chain (Distributor → Seller → Customer) are Platform-level settings and cannot be changed at the Subscription level. Currency badges in the Price Table display a lock icon to indicate this.

Regular / Prorated toggle

When a Subscription starts mid-cycle, the Price Table offers a Regular / Prorated toggle at the top right of the table. Selecting Prorated scales all price amounts in the table to match the prorated period (for example, 66 out of 365 days). Margin and Markup percentages remain the same — only the monetary amounts change.

Regular view

Pro-rated view

For a complete explanation of the prorated view, including examples and screenshots, see "How to view prorated Prices in the Price Table".

Example: multi-currency Price Table

Consider a Subscription where the Distributor operates in EUR, the Seller in MYR, and the Customer pays in MYR. The Cost Price from the Vendor is 1.00 EUR, and the Suggested Retail Price is 2.00 EUR. The exchange rate is 1 EUR = 5.00 MYR.

In this case, the Price Table shows:

Distributor row

  • Price Source: Cost Price
  • Catalog Adj.: 0%
  • Margin (%): 0.00
  • Margin (ABS): EUR 0.00
  • Unit Price: MYR 1.88 (≈ EUR 0.38)
  • You Buy For: EUR 0.38 (sub-line: MYR 1.88) Crossed out amount is referring to promotion, see details here.
  • You Sell For: MYR 1.88 (sub-line: EUR 0.38) Crossed out amount is referring to promotion, see details here
  • Suggested Retail Price: MYR 10.00 (≈ EUR 2.00)

Seller row

  • Price Source: Retail Price
  • Catalog Adj.: 0%
  • Margin (%): 50.00
  • Unit Price: MYR 3.76
  • You Buy For: MYR 5.00 (sub-line: MYR 1.88)
  • You Sell For: MYR 10.00 (sub-line: MYR 3.76)
  • Suggested Retail Price: MYR 10.00

The Exchange Rates legend at the bottom of the table displays: 1 EUR = 5.0000 MYR.

Price Table — simple case where Distributor operates in EUR and both Seller and Customer use MYR.

Example with different Seller and Customer currencies

When the Seller invoices the Customer in a different currency than the one received from the Distributor (for example, EUR → MYR → USD), additional FX conversions are visible. The exchange rate legend shows both cross-rates (for example, 1 MYR = 0.2457 USD and 1 EUR = 5.00 MYR), and cost-currency sub-lines appear beneath each price value showing the equivalent in the tier's cost currency.

Price Table — multi-currency case with EUR → MYR → USD, showing both exchange rates and cost-currency sub-lines.

Example with custom exchange rates

When the Distributor has configured custom exchange rates in Settings > Currency & Payments > Currency, the Price Table uses those custom rates for all sub-line conversions instead of the default provider rates. The exchange rate legend at the bottom of the table reflects the custom rates in use. See "Currency Exchange (FX) Rate Management" for details on configuring custom rates.

Example with taxes and Promotions

When a Promotion is applied and taxes are configured, the Price Table reflects both. Tax amounts may appear as a tooltip on the Grand Total, and the Promotion is factored into the catalog adjustment. The Catalog Adj. on Renew (%) column becomes visible when a renewal-specific adjustment exists.

Example with prorated and multi-currency

When the prorated view is active in a multi-currency setup, the Price column group header shows the "(pro-rated)" label with a day-ratio chip (for example, 365/365d). All price amounts are scaled to the prorated period while margins and adjustments stay the same. The Suggested Retail Price column may show N/A if prorated retail prices are not available for the Product.

Prorated view with multi-currency — amounts are scaled to the prorated period while exchange rates and margins remain unchanged.

Important information

  • The Price Table is read-only. To change prices, use the Markup Configuration fields above the table.
  • FX rates and the currency chain are configured at the Platform level (under Settings > Currency & Payments > Currency) and cannot be changed per Subscription.
  • All monetary values are formatted with exactly two decimal places and use a non-breaking space as the thousands separator, following European convention.
  • The Distributor tier row is only visible to users with Distributor Admin role or higher. The Seller tier row is visible to Account Manager role or higher.
  • When a Promotion is applied to the Subscription, it is reflected in both the Regular and Prorated views of the Price Table.
  • If taxes apply to the Subscription, the Price Table reflects tax-inclusive amounts where configured.
  • When the prorated view is active, the day-ratio indicator (for example, 14/31d) appears exactly once in the Price column group header and is not repeated on individual cell values.

Summary

The Price Table provides a comprehensive, read-only summary of pricing across all Partner tiers for a Subscription. It is organized into four column groups — Price Configuration, Profitability, Unit Economics, and Price — giving Distributors and Sellers full visibility into price sources, adjustments, margins, and buy/sell amounts. When multiple currencies are involved, the table displays each tier's prices in its own cost currency, with an Exchange Rates legend and cost-currency sub-lines for easy cross-tier comparison. The Simple / Detailed toggle controls how much pricing detail is visible, and the Regular / Prorated toggle lets you view scaled amounts for mid-cycle purchases.
