Create or Edit Customer Templates
When you configure a Customer Template in Business Central, all customers synced from the Platform will automatically inherit the template settings, requiring no manual intervention.
Follow these steps to set up customer templates:
- Navigate to Search and select Customer Templates to open the Customer Template page.
- Under "Customer templates," select Edit to modify an existing template or New to create a new template.
- Fill in the Posting Details in the Invoicing section to define how transactions will be recorded.
- Add the Payment Terms Code in the Payments section to specify default payment conditions.
- Open Dimensions and add relevant dimensions such as Department, Material, or Plant to enable proper financial tracking and reporting.
- Once the template configuration is complete, all customers synced from the Platform to the Invoicing Solution will be automatically onboarded with these settings.
Apply Customer Templates to Existing Customers
If you need to apply a Customer Template to customers that were already created before the template was configured, follow these steps:
- Navigate to Search and select Customers to view the customer list.
- Select the customer or multiple customers to whom you want to apply the Customer Template.
- Click on Actions → Other → Apply Template to apply the configured template settings to the selected customers.
The system will update the selected customers with the template settings, ensuring consistency across your customer base.
