Introduction

This article guides users through creating an Add-on Subscription in the Product Management UI. An Add-on Subscription is a supplementary offering that requires at least one prerequisite product to function. The process follows the same steps as creating standard products, with additional configuration to define prerequisite relationships and enable the add-on flag.

In this article:

Creating an Add-on Subscription means configuring a SKU that functions as a supplementary product for other existing products in your catalog.

The Add-on Subscription is created similarly to standard products in the Product Management UI.

For comprehensive details on creating products, refer to the article: How to create new offers?

Enable the Add-on flag

To designate a product as an Add-on Subscription, you must enable the 'Is Addon' flag in the Product Management UI.

Add prerequisite products

After enabling the Add-on flag, you need to specify at least one prerequisite product. The prerequisite defines which Parent Subscription the Add-on Subscription can be attached to.

To add multiple prerequisite products, select the 'Add Offer' button repeatedly for each additional prerequisite.

Locate specific prerequisite products

To find a particular prerequisite product, start typing the product name in the Offer field. The system displays all published products for the selected Vendor, allowing you to choose the appropriate prerequisite.

NOTE! Since release 146, CPQ offers can be created as add-ons in the Product management UI.

Summary

Creating an Add-on Subscription involves enabling the 'Is Addon' flag and specifying at least one prerequisite product. This configuration ensures the Add-on Subscription can only be purchased alongside its required Parent Subscription, maintaining proper product dependencies in your catalog.
